We made a DEAL!

HA! I love that line! I have been waiting like FOREVER to use it!

Luke and I are having a baby this December!

And I must admit that I feel a little silly. Two posts ago I was all, "Blah, blahm blah." But while I was writing it, I was prego!

It's still really early, like 5 weeks, so I probably shouldn't REALLY be telling everybody. But I am just so excited. We are going to be parents! It's a really crazy thing to think about and plan for. Because no amount of thinking or planning will EVER really help us get ready... but there is still so much to do!

So... There will be a little Deal running around by 2008. We haven't decided if we are going to find the sex out before or wait for the delivery. Any opnions or stories out there you want to share?

Love you guys, and thanks for all of your sweet words and thoughts in my whinney post about trying. I can't wait to share some experiences and such!

That's great! Congratulations!

"We haven't decided if we are going to find the sex out before or wait for the delivery": It sounds to me like you've already figured out the sex, otherwise there wouldn't be a baby on the way, would there.

I have already said it but I am saying it again.....THIS IS AWESOME!!! You two are going to make the best parents!! I will pray so hard for you three over the next nine months that everything goes peaceful and healthy!!! I can't stop using exclamation marks!!!!!!!! Ohmygoodness! I'm so excited that I feel the need to over-use exclamation marks, too!!!!!!!! It must be contagious! (The punctuation thing, not pregnancy.)

Seriously, I'm so,so happy for you! You're going to LOVE being a mommy, and you're going to be so good at it. You'll be the funnest mom in the neighborhood! I can't wait to hear all about your experiences--I thought I'd hate almost everything about being pregnant, I just knew I'd be miserable, but I ended up enjoying it. I felt pretty good the whole time, even the last month, aside from a hair-trigger gag reflex and wicked heartburn. I hope you fare well, too.

I love you and I'll be praying for you till you're holding your precious baby in your arms. And after that, too.

Can't wait for the New Deal! (Yes, that's a President Roosevelt joke. I'm a nerd.)

Very cool guys! I bet Larry & Leslie are just thrilled (and the rest of the family...) The time will fly by and the baby will be here before you know it! We are still waiting for our #2 to show up any day now...hopefully very soon because we were planning on leaving for Calgary next Friday.

Keep us posted on what's happening. I look forward to reading about your experience. :)

(And as far as deciding if you want to know the sex of the baby before it's born...they make mistakes! ie: Logan Krogsgaard, who was supposed to be a girl. And I like the surprise at the end of a long 10 months of pregnancy and a hard labor.)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

That is super exciting! I am so happy for you two!

I agree with Trina that mistakes happen. Those little babies like to play tricks on the doctors when they're trying to peek at their privates. I can't say what I would do since I've never been in that situation but I think I would likely wait 'till he/she made they appearance. On the other hand I'm not a vary patient person either. All in all in the end you have a baby and that's what really counts. Again congratulations. The three of you are in my prayers.

Hey guys, thanks! We are toatlly excited! I am debating on whether to post EVERYTHING like a blog journal, or to just keep all this stuff on the down low and let it be just a family thing.

We'll see. Luke and I are still talking about it. Me and God are still talking about it too!

And yes, Mr. Close... we remember you! How could one forget such a man? Hope all is well in your world, thanks for droping by ours!

Love you all! KK

Congrats, Kara! That is awesome news. I hope you are feeling good and all is well!

As far as 'finding out', I will cast my vote for YES to find out the gender - I LOVED knowing my baby boy long before he came out of my womb - praying over him by name, planning and decorating for my baby boy and I think bonding with him a lot more than if I didn't know. It's still a great surprise and a wonderful day the day he is born. But that's just my experience and I don't know the other way! It's not like you wouldn't bond with a 'mystery baby' either. :) And at your u/s you will know how 'sure' they are or not and whether you are ready to trust their eyes, especially if it is a later u/s. I saw the picture myself and had read enough online to know what to look for. :) It was practical for us too, as I was tired of buying yellow and green and white and it was fun to have cute little puppy overalls and blue shirts when he was born too. OK, that's just the way it was for us since you asked for opinions!!

Anyway, congrats and I will pray for a happy and healthy pregnancy for you! Have fun! God bless! bonnie :)

Kara, Hey, it's Jessica (Foster) Brahim....I'm so excited for you! I don't get over to read your blog much, but today was a lucky day! Congrats! Nezar and I are kind of going through the same thing you were, but we are being patient. Apparently we don't have this whole "thing" figure out yet! : ) Anyway, congrats!
