Let's hear it for the boy!

YES that is a song. From the movie Foot Lose I believe.

Okay... do you remember that Friends episode where Monica and Chandler decide to move in together, Rachel has to move out and in the process her and Monica start fighting. Then Phebs says she doesn't want to live with Rachel anymore because Monica and Rachel are so mean to each other. So Monica starts rambling out all of the reasons why Rachel IS a good roomie... and at the end Monica says, "And I have to live with a boooooooooy!" while crying and sad.

Okay, not everyday is fun living with a boy... like HIS definition of clean vs. MY definition of clean. But the rest of it is just great stuff! Eating together, laughing together and shopping with each other. I really enjoy every moment we spend together! He is my very best friend and even if we weren't married and vowed to be by each others side, I'd still spend every single second I could with him!

Today we cleaned the house together and it was the best time ever! We relaxed after wards, then we went and helped some friends who are building a house. Then we waited for his brother and friend to come and hang out for the weekend. Just normal... every day stuff. And I had a blast.

I know marriage is hard and it's one of those things you have to work at EVERY SINGLE DAY. And I know and understand the realities of life. What you love and hold dear to you can be gone in a flash. Whether it's death or someone gone missing (like the Natalie Holloway story) or the news that what you thought was greatness and joy in your life, ended up being a lie. Like divorce, cheating, or money fights.

So... I say all of this to simply say. I love my boy. I love my Lukie. I love living with him. I love laughing with him. And I will forever love all of our days together, living like we have no more! Not that we're planning on NOT being here... we just want to rest in the joy and peace of what God's given us today.

Here are some great pictures of my Lukie. May you rest in the joy and peace that God has given you today... no matter your circumstance!

Once there was an old man, sitting in his threadbare relciner, musing over the menaingful moments of his life; the meager contributions one man can make; the relationship one invests in; the prayers that are sent heavenward.
In his ample lap rested the old man's computer where words and images splashed, illuminating not only his darkened home, but also his old heart. With deft fingers, the ancient youth minister scrolled and clicked, reading the clever, humorous, and insightful thoughts of his old youth group members and their little friends.
As he linked from one blogsite to the next, the old man's heart warmed ... he sighed deeply ... and a tear fell.

I'm so glad you have a nice boy--and that you realize it and appreciate hime. Bot of you keep that up and you'll live happily ever after! =P

P.S. Do you know Rhett Rogers from the Delta congration in Vancouver, BC? Because if I didn't already know Rhett's brothers, I'd think Luke was one of 'em. (They're an attractive family--it's a compliment.)

YES! Remember that time you and I went to eat at Red Robin and then we went to one of your friends houses and watched a movie... and I thought I wass SOOOO cool because I was in 8 or 9 grade and I was hanging out with a college girl??????????? WELL.. remember how I told you I had decided I was going to marry Rhett, and he just didn't know it yet?!! I agree, my Lukie looks like he comes from that family... but he doesn't! He's a Deal, and I think I married up from Rhett! And we ALL KNOW how great Rhett is (and his fmaily) so THAT'S a comliment too... or is that bragging, since he's my husband? Who cares... I think it's true! :)

I totally remember going to Red Robin--I think I could still find the booth we sat in. And you WERE cool, that's why I wanted yo to hang out with me. ;)I kind of remember the Rhett thing now...I had a crush on one of his brothers for about 5 minutes when I was in High School. Wow, if you think you married up from Rhett, Luke must be a superhero! I love me some Rhett! (Did you know he lives in Vancouver or Portland now, and he and his sweet, beautiful wife just had a darling baby boy a couple of months ago?)

This is war. 4th grade dates don't count, especially when our moms were sitting in the row behind us which means we never made out.

Sorry Kara to have started this war on your blog. We will move on to our own blogs!!!
