ORANGE!

I want to first acknowledge that not everyone will be a fan of this topic! Please be friendly and Christ like in your comments if you feel the need to say anything. Thank you!

I just thought I would share a little something that I wrote for our church newsletter. It went over well, and I like to share things... so here it is...

One of my past times is reading blogs. For those of you who may not be familiar with such a word, a blog is a person’s own web page on the internet where they can share stories, pictures, short video’s, and thoughts on whatever topic fancies them. And readers of the blog can usually leave comments and thoughts of their own. It’s basically a little preview into other people’s lives, thoughts, and world.
For a busy body like me… it’s incredible! I can read about a house wife’s life in Arkansas, and I can see an aspiring photographer’s photos in Washington. Some people only post pictures of their growing babies (I’m guilty of this) and others never put up pictures but ramble on and on about politics or something of the like.
I have noticed that in most politically “blue” states, there is a lot of emphasis on “going green,” which is a very modern way of saying that one should be environmentally friendly. I am all for being better stewards of the earth that God has graciously given us… but in my humble opinion… I don’t want to be green. I grew up in a “blue” state and I saw the fuzziness of that fine line between being environmentally friendly, and turning environmentalism into another religion. I have heard a good point that the thought of US, destroying God’s creation seems a little… self involved.
So, I have resolved to be orange. If one is green in a blue state, then I am orange in a red state. I am a conservative, who is going to become a better steward of what God has given us. I would like to extend the invitation to you as well… be orange with me! Be orange because of GOD!
