Passport, Shmash-port

Luke and I are suppose to be in Calgary, Alberta, Canada as of yesterday. But NOPE! Stinkn' U. S. Government is S.L.O.W.! Luke got his application in like a million and a half years ago (translation: beginning of Feb.) and still no passport. So the passport web site gives you a number to call. We call the number and wait through eleventy billion options and such. Fun times. And then they hang up on us because there were no lines open. Hmmm, ever heard of a call waiting program? HELLO? American Airlines has one (I know this information because of the situation at hand) can our government not afford one? Smells like bologna sandwiches to me people!

SO... anywho, We finally get through and find out Luke's passport is being processed in Houston. No, no, there is no phone number to call. No supervisor to talk with. The only help offered was for the operator helper person on the other end of the dumb phone to email the Houston service branch to tell them to rush the process. Yeah. That some GREAT accountability there! So Luke is told to call back tomorrow to see if his passport has been processed.

It wasn't! Nopey nope, nope! He was told to call again the next day.

NOPE! (seeing a pattern here friends?) Call back the next day.

NOPE!

So, the knowledge that I have gleaned from this little experience is... people in Houston do not read their emails! Yup. Pure and simple. The whole passport system is just set up so fantastically well, that if those stinkn' emails were just read on a regular bases, than everyone would have their passports BEFORE the date of their scheduled trip.

(Note the sarcasm)

I will leave you with this. I am sorry if this story was not written in English. There are many Kara-ism's and many rambling rants that I am too lazy to go back and fix. I am not in Canada with my family, I am bitter, and I am having to work instead! Happy camper, I am not. So please know that I am sorry if this is a hard one for you to get through!

Ahhhh, I feel a tiny bit better.

Just vent it all out! That's a lot better than staying mad at people that don't even care that you're mad. They are just that lame that it doesn't even phase them when they have ruined someone's trip - you can't reason with them, you can only hope to avoid them as much as possible. You should get a punching bag or something and just get all the frustation out.

I love a good Kara Kay frustration post!! It makes me realize that other people have problems just like me!! Plus they make me laugh because they are full of Kara-isms, which I totally get!

Love ya both!

I hate the helplessness that I feel when these things happen. I think that is what makes me the maddest --problems caused by the errors of others should be fixable if any good and intelligent person tries really hard . . . but they aren't always.

OH gotta love the red tape of international travel...minus the love!!! I hate this kind of stuff! My team is getting ready to head to Brazil in a little over a month and I am very thankful that everyone has passports and visas in hand...My documentation to take my class at ACU next month is another story all together. I'm wondering if they're gonna start asking for DNA tests soon. Give me a break people! I hope that you can get your passport issues resolved and get on with life. Miss you guys!
